In today’s educational environment, how can we help children from an early age establish goals that benefit others, value building healthy relationships, and remain resilient when facing adversity? These are important questions that every educator should consider. Elementi Education aims to cultivate in young children a positive attitude toward both learning and life by bringing together support from multiple stakeholders.

Starting in 2026, the school will recommend that administrative staff participate in the Preschool Instructor Training program certified by the Positive Discipline Association (USA). By committing to learn and apply the core principles of positive discipline in real practice, we build on our professional foundation—Montessori (Montessori) teaching—which aligns closely with these ideals. Through our teaching experience, we have learned the importance of respectful guidance, the value of consistent expectations, and the role of helping children move toward self-discipline. This training deepens teachers’ understanding of positive discipline principles and strengthens their ability to apply them effectively in both school and community settings. With a teaching mission rooted in faith, our educators especially put into practice the biblical teaching from Proverbs 22:6: to guide children onto the right path.

Positive discipline plays a key role in shaping attitudes toward behavior and building strong relationships. Through our work in early childhood education, we have observed that when adults provide clear expectations, communicate respectfully, and guide children toward learning and growth, children become more confident, more willing to cooperate, and more able to develop positive self-management skills. Positive discipline emphasizes these core values: connection, encouragement, and responsibility—all of which point toward long-term character development. For the school’s goals, parenting and caregiving are not only about addressing children’s behavioral challenges; they are part of lifelong education. When caregivers continue to grow in understanding and capability, children benefit—and families can gradually experience positive change over time.
