In 2008, the Hong Kong Government introduced major education policy changes to align with the Pre-primary Education Voucher Scheme. This scheme subsidizes kindergarten school fees, helping to ease the financial burden on families with preschool-aged children while also raising the standards and professional qualifications of early childhood educators. In particular, all teachers were required to attend in-service training and achieve the Certificate in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualifications).
With strong support from our School Management Committee, Supervisors, and successive school leaders, New Jade Elementi Kindergarten & International Nursery made the important decision to transform from a private, independently operated school into a non-profit school sponsoring body. This commitment brought significant improvements across every aspect of school life—financial operation, administrative structure, personnel arrangements, and service indicators. With faith and determination, we continue to move forward.
Between 2008 and 2018, we were grateful for the dedication of every coworker. Together, we integrated and strengthened our curriculum through our shared efforts. We also established the Rainbow Parent Volunteer Team, and, through close partnership with parents, hosted a wide range of diversified family activities. Our Life Education Curriculum was fully implemented, drawing on the “7 Seeds” programme and the Bible subject “Seed of Life” to nurture children’s spiritual growth. In addition, we launched the “Character Building Program”, helping children develop positive values, attitudes, and lifestyles—so they can grow into proactive and joyful learners.
Throughout this journey, we received recognition from the Education Bureau and the wider education community. We also successfully passed two separate quality reviews, receiving affirmations and highly positive feedback in our school reports.
From the very beginning to today, we are truly proud of our Elementi family—and we remain committed to serving children and families with care, integrity, and hope.
