Established in 1978, Pui Yuen Kindergarten provides high-quality kindergarten services in the Shau Kei Wan area of Eastern Hong Kong. Working with a dedicated team of teachers, the kindergarten implements a theme-based, activity-based teaching method, develops its curriculum, and designs a diverse set of creative learning materials.
In 1995, the Pui Yuen school on Oi Mun Street in Shau Kei Wan had the opportunity to expand and relocate. With the support of Mr. Cheung Kam-tim, Chairman of the Shau Kei Wan Neighborhood Welfare Association, and the school principal, Mr. Chan, a non-profit kindergarten was jointly established.
The new building provided a spacious and superior school environment, greatly benefiting children and parents in the Shau Kei Wan area.
The school also took this opportunity to conduct focused training and fully implement children's design activities, a very innovative and activity-based teaching method at the time.
In order to uphold Chairman Cheung's spirit and belief in benefiting the community, the school changed its name from Shau Kei Wan Neighborhood Welfare Association Pui Yuen Kindergarten to Shau Kei Wan Neighborhood Welfare Association Cheung Kam Tim Memorial Kindergarten on August 1, 2013, in memory of Chairman Cheung's contributions to early childhood education services in Hong Kong.
